Welcome to the American Sign Language for Life (ASLFL) blog. ASLFL began as a Facebook group. Now it has its' own blog.
It is for everyone, no matter if you're hearing, hard or hearing, or deaf. Not only can you learn about sign and deaf culture, but you can make some new friends. What People Don't Know
There are actually many people today who don't even know sign language exists, or do, but they don't know much about it. Many people think they don't have a social life, good jobs, a close bond with their families, etc. But this is not true. Many deaf people communicate with their families and others, and have good jobs. Deaf people are very capable of doing the things hearing people do, but most hearing people don't realize that.
What Is American Sign Language For Life's Mission?
ASLFL's mission is to help people everywhere learn about sign language and deaf culture, to open their minds and help them see things a different way. It is to help people learn that deaf people are capable of many things and to communicate and learn with each other so that people can have a better understanding of each other. ASLFL will hopefully become a fun group/blog to be in and communicate in.
What Will The Blog Posts And Facebook Group Have In Them?
Both the blog and facebook group will have videos, questions, information about sign and deaf culture, and communication between everyone who participates in the group and/or reads the blog.
Can We Use ASL Format When We Comment In The Facebook Group or Blog?
First, for those who don't know, ASL Format is the way american sign language is written. Yes, of course ASL Format is allowed, and there may be a post about ASL format in the future.
